Baby stuff>  I'd say we went with the higher-end (but not top-end) stuff.  That
is, not designer brands by any means, but the "standard" brands plus all the
bells and whistles.  We bought it all ourselves, so we paid what we were
comfortable with.  I probably would have put lower-priced stuff on the
registry... In the end, we got:

Car seat:  Graco snug ride, $110
Basic stroller (works with car seat): Graco Metrolite, $120
Fancy stroller (major gift from grandparents): Valco Baby TriMode, $400
High chair:  Fisher Price Healthy Care, $110
Playpen:  Graco Pack-n-Play, $90

We could definitely have gone cheaper on these items (often just by choosing a
different color or pattern!) but we could afford to indulge a bit...
