Yeah, but they're talking about why this mom-to-be didn't get a lot of gifts
off of her registry at her babyshower.  She, herself, cannot afford these
big-ticket items, but apparantly, neither could her shower guests. That's too
many commas...  Anyway - it's fine to choose the spendy products if you know
you'll purchase them yourself either on your own, or after you see what you get
at your shower.
