Hey everybody.
Wanted to let you all know... I had an ultrasound one week ago and found out
that I am carrying what appears to be a very healthy baby boy. :) I am very
grateful.
Just found out that my neighbor's baby was born in November with
hydroencephaly. (Is that the right spelling? She had very severe water on the
brain.) I guess the doctors told the mom in her fourth or fifth month of
pregnancy and encouraged her to terminate, but she chose not to. Anyway, this
poor little baby girl was born a month early weighing 10 pounds, with 4 pounds
of water on her brain. She's been in Iowa City hospitals ever since, and they
are saying it is the worst case they have ever seen. She's already had 5
surgeries and has to have at least 7 more. The parents are just a young couple
in their mid-twenties. They're nice people. I feel really bad for them.
Their medical bills are awful.... wow. It makes me REALLY grateful that they
say my baby is normal as of now.
I think that's all I've got to say. Just be grateful for what you've got, you
know?
