Agf,

It depends on what her caloric intake is currently... and you have to moderate
what KIDN of calories you're taking in.  If you need to up your calories, you
have to do it with whole grains, good fats, and lean protiens and plenty of
fruits and veggies.  If she doesnt' know how many calories she's currently
getting, she should try to do a food diary for a week and see what she averages
a day.  Then go from there.  I know that in my current diet, I get PLENTY of
calories and didn't need to adjust the calorie intake when I got pregnant, but
I did need to adjust my eating schedule because any kind of hungry feeling made
the nausea really bad.  So that meant smaller meals, and added snacks, but NOT
added calories.
